Holly was found wandering along the 99 freeway between Visalia and Kingsburg. A couple traveling picked her up but since it was Sunday there was really no place to take her to. They came to PetSmart where LOA was having an adoption site and talked to a few of the foster parents. One of them agreed to take Holly and made arrangements to have ads posted in both Tulare County and Fresno County to see if the owner would respond.

After two weeks of no responses, Holly began her journey through LOA's adoption program. During her stay the first foster family, it was noticed that she really did not get along well with cats (she played too rough with them). She does however get along fine with other dogs. She is currently housed with dogs of all sizes and cats in catteries and fit in very fast (okay so she was a brat who loves attention).

She does have access to a dog door to go in and out at her leisure. Holly is allowed to have run of the house and the only issue is paper/wrappers in smaller trash cans. Normally at night she curls up with one of the guys on the cough in the front room and sleeps her little heart out. Holly would do better in a home with old children and or adults.

As with any new companion, it is wise to spend good quality time with them and let them explore their new surrounding while you set the boundaries. It is also good to make sure they have a "special" area they can escape to when company comes. This will make both you and your companion have a much better relationship.
