Pixie (or Pixie Stix), was rescued as a very young kitten. The man who took her in was going to adopt her out, but he decided to keep her. He was killed in an automobile accident in September 2011. At the time of his death he had 18 cats, of which most were out for adoption through LOVE OF ANIMALS. They are now referred to as JOE’S CATS. LOVE OF ANIMALS stepped up and is now taking care of JOE’S CATS. Pixie and her friends are at another foster home awaiting adoption.
Pixie has always been very shy around strangers, but once she knows a person and is comfortable, she is a loving and laid back cat. She is afraid of other cats and totally terrified of dogs, because one had attacked her. She has never been around children. Pixie would do well in a calm and quiet setting.
Warning: She is terrified of someone touching her ears, or grabbing her from behind.
It is suggested as with all feline adoptions to keep a new companion indoors for a several weeks so they become familiar with the new surroundings. It is also good to make sure they have a "special" area they can escape to when company comes. This will make both you and your companion have a much better relationship.
