This Dachshund/Chihuahua mix was adopted by a sweet lady who adored her. When she passed early this year the kids really didn’t want dogs. She was lost without her “mom”, but she has adapted well to foster care. My best guess is that Ginger is approximately 4 years old. She was up to date on shots and has been spayed and micro-chipped.
Ginger is good with cats, so far she doesn’t chase or hurt them, but she is a little timid around them, and will literally cry if one chases her!! The same with large dogs, she was living with her brother Mojo and loves other small dogs but is afraid of large dogs!
She loves car rides, but will get in front of the car for you to take her so you need to be careful if she is around cars. She listens well and has been kept mostly outdoors these last months and sleeps in a kennel. She of course prefers the bed, but is content in the kennel. If indoors she will potty on a puppy pad or paper. She loves toys and has a few favorites that should go with her. She is definitely an easy keeper and very loving!!!

As with any new companion, it is wise to spend good quality time with them and let them explore their new surrounding while you set the boundaries. It is also good to make sure they have a "special" area they can escape to when company comes. This will make both you and your companion have a much better relationship.
Love of Animals will screen potential adoption parents to ensure the companion WILL NOT be a fighting dog.
